Community Development & Local Content

Projects need to invest in local communities. Investments need to be relevant to stakeholders, avoid infringing on government mandates and be sustainable. This can fall within a Company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) requirement or described in Sustainability Reporting.

HEC translates available budgets for community development into meaningful and responsive community programs that leverage local capacities. HEC consults with local stakeholders and potential implementing partners, develops resourcing plans for community relations departments, and moderates discussions between communities, clients and regulators on broader regional planning initiatives.

HEC works with human resources teams to develop equitable, local hiring and procurement practices and skills training. Regulators increasingly expect projects to increase local content over time, and planning for this is a critical path item.
